Blue Meets White. East Meets You.

The Zen Minimalist Blue & White Bud Vase is a study in contrast. Cobalt brushwork dances across a Suet White body — a design language that has traversed the Silk Road, adorned Ming Dynasty porcelain, and now finds a quiet home on your living room shelf.

Hand-Painted, Not Printed

Unlike screen-printed imitations, the blue motifs on this vase are applied freehand by a Dehua artisan. The brush pressure, the pigment concentration, the pause between strokes — these are decisions made in real time by human hands. Your vase will not look exactly like the one in the photo, and that is precisely the point.

The Details

  • Material: Lead-free Dehua Suet White porcelain — fired at 1300°C for exceptional durability
  • Decoration: Hand-painted cobalt blue pattern inspired by classic Chinese blue-and-white ware
  • Size: Compact bud vase profile — perfect for a single stem or minimalist display
  • Finish: Gloss interior with a subtly textured matte exterior for visual depth

Endless Possibilities

Pair it with a dried eucalyptus branch for a spa-like calm. Place it beside a stack of art books for a shelf moment. Gift it to the friend who collects objects with provenance, not just products with price tags.

Small vase. Big story. Yours to continue.

Questions, answered

What is the story behind the blue-and-white pattern?

Cobalt-on-white porcelain is the design language that travelled the Silk Road and reshaped European ceramics — Delft, Meissen and Staffordshire were all chasing it. Ours is hand-brushed in Dehua in a deliberately restrained modern motif. Read the full history.

How big is it and what fits in it?

A bud vase, so it is sized for one stem and a lot of quiet — a single rose, a sprig of eucalyptus, one dried allium. It suits a nightstand, a bathroom shelf, or the corner of a desk more than a dining table centerpiece.

Will the blue fade or wash off?

No. The cobalt is applied under the glaze and sealed by the 1300°C firing, so it is physically beneath a layer of glass. Dishwasher cycles, water and sunlight do not touch it.

Does it clash with an all-white room?

It is the opposite — a single point of cool blue is what keeps a warm neutral room from reading flat. Pair it with our matte white pieces and the blue becomes the accent rather than the theme.

Is it lead-free and food-safe?

Lead-free and cadmium-free, third-party lab tested. The white body carries no colourant at all, and the cobalt used on hand-painted pieces sits under the glaze, sealed by the 1300°C firing.
